Is There Space For Integration In The Cloud?

Lately, you have had a lot of benefits available to you for using the cloud structures. You likely have seen new concepts and solutions that numerous companies are providing to you at the same time. You also have to take into consideration the layers that already exist like IaaS (infrastructure as a service), PaaS (platform as a service) and SaaS (software as a service). But, are there still unexplored spaces?

cloud

From some perspectives, you may have additional layers controlling all the current layers (IaaS, PaaS and SaaS). It might be called ERP (enterprise resource planning) and it could be a special layer that controls the automating of actual tools or services.

Where Would This ERP Be?

The ERP would likely be placed on the bare metal layer to automate and to manage the resources on demand. Therefore, the monitoring, requests and workflows could all be totally automated. So, for example, if an alert was created informing you of a lack of resources like memory, space and processor space, what would happen?

The ERPs will simply deploy another host, and then add it into the cluster, set up the network, set the SAN to provide more space, create a VM (virtual machine), then install the application and take care of the balancing without any intervention regarding physical and logical parts.

This ERP could manage all the activities. You can have modules created according to your client’s requests.

An Application Request

For example, if your client requests an application through a website that we will call “Z” and says that a set number of users will use the application. The ERP will set the switch (the virtual networks and IP address), set the SAN, deploy a new host and create virtual machines (VM). Next the ERP will install and set up the OS (operating system), install and configure the applications, then set up monitoring, backup and capacity and so on.

Eventually, you will have a totally automated management. So, if you get some alerts, the ERP would correct them automatically.

Now, the ERP can also be offered to work inside your client’s business. Then you could have modules to be able to read all processes and then automate them.

In today’s cloud computing atmosphere, you have a lot of services and solutions available to you that you can be implemented. You need to choose which ones are least profitable. You could choose the ones by the size of the clients, how much money they have to invest and so on.
